Investment Strategy

The investment team employs a fundamental research-driven, value-oriented approach to identifying opportunities in the small and mid-cap equity markets. The team identifies market mispricings that may result from a transitional event, a complex corporate structure, and/or the lack of research coverage or institutional investor focus.

Overview

Jeremy Zhu has been managing the strategy since June 2007. The team has extensive experience working together to identify investment opportunities. Each member of the team has more than 15 years of investment experience, and, while they have different areas of expertise, they share the same investment philosophy – identify opportunities in the equity market and carefully manage portfolio risk. The team actively seeks out companies that are in transition and therefore are more likely to be under or overvalued by the market. Once an opportunity is identified the team begins a deep dive to determine the fundamental value of the company. In addition to analyzing the company, the team also considers the impact on the portfolio. Risk management permeates the entire process – from security selection to hedging to monitoring.
